A small town Georgia boy, Lawson’s love for theater and musicals was sparked by the films The Wizard of Oz and Marry Poppins. He often took the opportunity to perform these films by heart to anyone he could trap in a room for long enough.

At the age of seven, he saw a production of Peter Pan at the local Habersham Community Theater. From that moment on he took every opportunity he could to be involved in productions in school and at the community theater.  Lawson also began working in the film and commercial industry in Atlanta, the greater Southeast, and New York from a young age.

Lawson is now based in New York City. Both an interpretive and creative artist, Lawson's desire to tell stories and affect change in others is at the core of all of his work.
